Title: Pro Bono Coordinator (3192)

Description:

This global law firm located in midtown Manhattan is seeking a Pro Bono Coordinator who will be responsible for all aspects of administrative support for the Pro Bono practice area. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the process of opening new pro bono matters.
  • Notify the appropriate departments about new matters and staffing.
  • Update the Pro Bono database with new matters and inform the Firm’s Special Counsel of the new updates.
  • Ensure the relevant attorneys on each matter adhere to the requirements for an administrative or court appearance and file the appropriate notice.
  • Manage timely substitution of counsel notices.
  • Manage case updates.
  • Assist with survey of attorneys related to ongoing matters.
  • Communicate with the regional offices’ Pro Bono Coordinators and attorneys in all offices to ensure compliance with survey process and intake and termination procedures.
  • Coordinate any requests and tasks generated from yearly survey process.
  • Coordinate with the regional offices’ Pro Bono Coordinators on updates and surveys, as well as providing assistance on any regional office matters.
  • Coordinate with attorneys departing the Firm to ensure mandatory requirements for departure are met and the appropriate process for transferring cases is followed.
  • Coordinate with the Pro Bono Administrative Coordinator on the distribution of termination letters.
  • Communicate regularly with external contacts and clients.
  • Update and maintain the Pro Bono pages on theSlate, etc. Compile resources,maintain training materials.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned. 

Education and Experience Required:

  • BA/BS
  • Corporate Legal Assistant experience preferred, but not required.
  • 3-7 years of overall/related Pro Bono administration experience in a corporate law firm.
  • Commitment to work overtime and to travel, if necessary.
